The Position and Health Service
We are seeking appoint a highly motivated Locum (Fixed Term) Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist to join the friendly, supportive and dynamic team that forms the Anaesthetic Department
The paediatric anaesthetic department supports a significant acute and elective paediatric surgical workload.
The Hospital provides specialist and regional services which include neonatal surgery, paediatric oncology, including radiotherapy, trauma orthopaedics, major trauma, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cleft lip and palate services, ENT, maxillofacial surgery and ophthalmology. Day case procedures are delivered in a dedicated suite, with 2 theatres.
This post will be in addition to the existing 16 paediatric anaesthetic consultants. The appointments will offer an exciting opportunity to work with an enthusiastic team, to continue to develop the existing service, in particular augmenting delivery of emergency care and pre-operative assessment for elective surgery.
Research & Audit activities are encouraged and the department maintains strong links with the Medical School. Participation in undergraduate and postgraduate activity is encouraged

MBBS or equivalent
FRCA or equivalent
GMC registration with license to practice
Previous Paeds Anaesthesia experience
Previous NHS experience is desirable
