SMA Solicitors is an established and successful law firm specialising in Immigration Law.
We are looking to hire a Legal Assistant/Paralegal. Your role will be to assist Solicitors and senior paralegals with the preparation of complex legal documents, mid-level legal research activities, and other tasks related to the practice area.
You are expected to display fantastic research and communication skills. A successful candidate should be organised, professional and well informed. Top candidates will have remarkable interpersonal, excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents to communicate regularly with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues
- Analyse case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government organisation.
- Work closely in a team environment and provide updates
- Learn procedural and processing requirements for various types of applications
- Perform various administrative duties in addition to the above
Personal Specification:
· A degree in Law is essential
· Prior experience preferred but not necessary
· Analytical thinker
· Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Familiarity with legal technology and computer databases
· Present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and clients

Salary: £16,000.00-£18,000.00 per year
